Coach McKay and the Flames have picked up a commitment from Blake Preston, a 2018 prospect from Charlotte Christian High School in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Preston is a 6’9″, 220 pound forward who also had offers from UNC Greensboro, Charlotte, Elon, Lipscomb, Mercer, Wofford, and Campbell. This past season, he averaged 9.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game while shooting 52% from the field. McKay has had some success recruiting from Charlotte Christian as that’s where he found Seth Curry. Anthony Gill, who starred under McKay at Virginia, also attended Charlotte Christian School.
Preston joins combo guard Darius McGhee as early pledges in the class of 2018 for Coach McKay and the Flames.
