Following the announcement of linebackers coach Carl Torbush’s retirement, Turner Gill has shifted his staff’s coaching responsibilities.
Josh Bookbinder, who was defensive quality control during the 2012 season, has been named outside linebackers coach. Bookbinder was previously named special teams coordinator following Mike Minter’s move to Campbell.
Liberty’s defensive coordinator Robert Wimberly will now also coach the linebackers and safeties. Last season, Wimberly only coached the safeties.
Marshall Roberts, recruiting coordinator, will now be coaching the defensive backs instead of just the cornerbacks.
Gill also stated he will announce who is going to take over as special teams coordinator later.
