A few notes from this morning’s practice:
There were quite a few fans in the stands watching the Flames practice today. It’s good to see support coming out early.
On the defensive side of the ball, Kenny Scott and true freshman Tyrin Holloway both had picks. Holloway also broke up a couple pass attempts.
Offensively, Josh Woodrum and Javan Shashaty took most of the snaps. Woodrum continued to look good, making quick, smart decisions. He also showed accuracy throwing both from the pocket and rolling out. Shashaty made some good throws as well, but did get picked off twice.
Most of the handoffs were to Desmond Rice and Clifton Richardson. D. J. Abnar got some action as well.
The play of the day came on a pass from Shashaty to Dakota Kelly. Shashaty threw toward the back of the end zone, a little low, and Kelly made a great catch.
Kicker John Lunsford was also back on the field kicking today after suffering an injury earlier in camp. He should be ready to go by the Kent State game.
Time is running out as kickoff is in just two weeks!
