Former Coastal Carolina defensive back Elijah Hopkins has transferred to Liberty and is currently enrolled at the school and going through workouts with the football team, ASOR has confirmed.
Hopkins played in four games during the 2022 season at Coastal Carolina, his first year with the program. The 5’10”, 170 pound athlete has four seasons of eligibility remaining as he was able to redshirt this past season. Hopkins will help add depth for the Flames at corner.
Hopkins served as Coastal’s emergency running back due to injuries in four games in 2022, carrying the ball four times for 19 yards.
Hopkins was a three-star recruit out of high school where he starred at Vanguard High School. He chose Coastal over Tennessee, South Florida, UAB, Southern Miss, Arkansas State, and Florida A&M.
