On Thursday, former Liberty quarterback Josh Woodrum signed a free agent deal with the Washington Redskins.
Woodrum, who starred at Liberty from 2013-16, joins the NFL franchisee shortly after the disbanding of the Alliance of American Football league where he played for the Salt Lake Stallions. The 26-year old Woodrum completed 64.3% of his passes for 1,449 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions for the Stallions. Serving mostly as a practice team player, Woodrum has spent time in the NFL with the Giants, Colts, Bears, Bills, Ravens, and Browns. He was a first round selection, taken 8th overall, in the AAF draft. Woodrum now joins the 90-man roster and will be fighting for a spot on the final 53-man roster this fall.
He has yet to appear in an NFL regular season game, but in 2017 with the Ravens during preseason he finished 25-of-36 for 321 yards and 4 total touchdowns before being cut prior to the start of the season.
