Remember that Facebook post from Dominique Davis several months ago stating he was giving up football? Chris Lang discussed that with the Liberty captain yesterday at Big South media day. Turns out his sister was behind the post.
Another topic in Lang’s notebook (linked above) discusses the Flames having a couple of scrimmages this August away from campus. Coach Gill explains why, “I wanted to make it like a road game.” Makes sense with the Flames opening the season on the road for their first 2 games.
The quarterback “situation” in Richmond will be fun to watch this year. UR beat writer John O’Connor quotes Coach Danny Rocco as saying his nephew, Michael Rocco, is expected to play in every game this season. Interesting considering last year’s starter Michael Strauss returns after a record breaking 2013.
Speaking of the Spiders, Liberty’s 2014 homecoming opponent was picked to finish 3rd in the CAA this year behind New Hampshire and Villanova.

After some investigatory work, twitter user @Bronlevy is apparently a student at the University of Tennessee. Does that mean Braxton will be attending Tennessee as well?
I know this isn’t a tweet, but it’s too good to pass up. Kevin Durant posted this photo to his instagram account Thursday. He’s with San Antonio Spur Austin Daye (right) and former Liberty basketball player Johnny Stephene (center). Stephene has started the company HandleLife where he works with basketball players to improve their handles. His website claims to have worked recently with Nate Robinson, Gilbert Arenas, Demar Derozan, and several others. I guess he can update it now to include KD.
