The coronavirus pandemic has caused a list of sports leagues at all levels to either suspend or outright cancel events and entire seasons, but the NFL plans to move forward with the 2020 NFL Draft as scheduled.
As it stands, the 2020 NFL Draft will be held April 23-25 in Las Vegas, but all public events tied to the draft have been canceled, and the NFL is still working out any possible amendments to how the draft process itself will be held.
Liberty wide receiver Antonio Gandy-Golden continues to prepare for the draft and is expected to be the 8th Flame to be taken in the NFL Draft and first since 2014. Here’s a full list of Liberty football players that have been selected in the NFL Draft:
1985 – WR Fred Banks taken in the 8th round by the Cleveland Browns
1986 – WR Kelvin Edwards taken in the 4th round by the New Orleans Saints
1989 – DB Richard Shelton taken in the 10th round by the Denver Broncos
1990 – TE Eric Green taken in the 1st round by the Pittsburgh Steelers
1990 – DB Donald Smith taken in the 10th round by the Minnesota Vikings
2009 – RB Rashad Jennings taken in the 7th round by the Jacksonville Jaguars
2014 – DB Walt Aikens taken in the 4th round by the Miami Dolphins
