Former Liberty guard Caleb Homesley is currently playing in the G League for the Erie BayHawks after being signed and then released by the Washington Wizards. Homesley and the BayHawks have been in Orlando competing in the bubble for the past month. Erie finished the regular season in a tie for 2nd place out of 18 G League competing this season with an 11-4 record. Homesley and the BayHawks will begin their playoff run Monday night at 6 pm against the Lakeland Magic.
The 6’6″ Homesley finished the regular season averaging 24.9 minutes, 9.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. He is shooting 40.6% from the field and 34.7% from three-point range.
Erie struggled this week, dropping two out of their final three regular season contests. This past Tuesday in a loss to the Santa Cruz Warriors, Homesley played 26 minutes after getting the start, but he was just 1 of 9 from the field and 1 of 5 from three finishing with 3 points to go along with 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 1 block.
Homesley again got the start in Thursday’s win over the Oklahoma City Blue. He played 28 minutes and scored 14 points, as well as 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. He was 5 of 10 from the field and 3 of 8 from three point range.
In the regular season finale on Friday against the Westchester Knicks, Homesley started and played 32 minutes. He made 4 of 9 from the field and 2 of 5 from behind the arc. Homesley scored 10 points and finished with 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block.
