Liberty’s Caleb Homesley was named to the 2019-20 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) University Division All-State first team. Homesley is the first Liberty player to be named to the VaSID University Division All-State first team since 2009, when Seth Curry received the honor.
Homesley was joined on the First-Team by VaSID Player of the Year Nathan Knight from William & Mary, Virginia’s Mamadi Diakite, Radford’s Carlik Jones, and Hampton’s Jermaine Marrow.
Virginia’s Kihei Clark, Richmond’s Jacob Gilyard, JMU’s Matt Lewis, Virginia Tech’s Landers Nolley II, and Hampton’s Ben Stanley were named to the Second-Team.
Homesley continues to rack up postseason honors as this selection goes along with Lou Henson All-America Team selection, 2019-20 ASUN Player of the Year, the ASUN Tournametn MVP, and a First Team All-ASUN selection, a Lute Olson All-American, and an NABC District 3 First Team honoree.
Homesley ended his career ranked No. 10 on Liberty’s all-time scoring list with 1,539 career points and No. 8 on the school’s all-time rebounding list with 703 rebounds. This season, he ranked third in the conference averaging 15.3 points per game and was second on the team with 5.7 rebounds per game.
Homesley helped guide the Flames to the program’s most successful season with 30 wins, a program record, the second consecutive ASUN Regular Season Championship, and ASUN Tournament Championship while clinching a second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.
