Brian Hudson played sparingly throughout the first 3 quarters of the Presbyterian game. At first glance, this was odd since Josh Woodrum had placed a stranglehold on the starting QB spot. When Turner Gill was asked about this at halftime, he simply responded that Hudson is the Wildcat QB.
WR Gabe Henderson, who came to Liberty as a QB, saw a few snaps against Montana as a Wildcat QB. He has not seen time at QB since. Hudson and Gabe are completely different players. Just look at their size – Hudson 6’3″ 220, Gabe 5’11” 195.
In Hudson’s first series as Wildcat QB, he handed it off to Aldreakis Allen on read option plays twice. These 2 plays went for 61 yards and an Aldreakis Allen touchdown to give Liberty a 14-0 lead in the 1st quarter. His next series as the Wildcat ended with an impressive 20 yard run by Hudson that he, unfortunately, fumbled and PC recovered.
Hudson finished with just 1 rush for 20 yards and no pass attempts while the Wildcat.
