For as long as Hugh Freeze is Liberty’s head coach, he is going to be mentioned as a potential replacement for just about any Power Five job that comes open. The most recent one is Baylor.
Baylor’s Matt Rhule was hired as the Carolina Panthers head coach and potential names for Rhule’s replacement immediately started to heat up. Freeze’s name is one that is gaining some traction.
Football Scoop was one of the first to mention the Baylor and Freeze link earlier in the day on Tuesday, as he was mentioned alongside Arkansas State’s Blake Anderson, Louisiana’s Billy Napier, former UNC head coach Larry Fedora, current Baylor assistant Joey McGuire, and North Texas’ Seth Littrell.
Clay Travis and Dari Nowkhah have also linked Freeze and the Baylor opening.
Throw in the twist of Liberty Athletic Director Ian McCaw coming to Lynchburg from Baylor and this story is one to keep an eye on.
