Saturday Down South published an article Saturday afternoon citing Auburn fans calling for Freeze to replace Gus Malzahn.
Before the sun had set Saturday, 247Sports published an article entitled ‘It’s time to have the Hugh Freeze conversation’.
Freeze has been a successful head coach everywhere he’s been – from the NAIA at Lambuth, to the G5 at Arkansas State, to the SEC at Ole Miss, and now at FBS Independent Liberty.
Each and every week the program is reaching new heights under second year head coach Hugh Freeze. He currently has the Flames sitting at 5-0 after the program’s first ever win over an ACC opponent and receiving votes in both major college football top 25 polls.
The offensive-minded Freeze and Liberty sports one of the most dangerous rushing attacks in the country, averaging almost 270 yards per game, and it doesn’t seem to matter who is the primary ball carrier.
His alma mater, a place that has a head coaching vacancy currently, is scheduled to travel to Lynchburg this weekend to take on the unbeaten Flames, and discussions around Freeze and that vacancy will intensify throughout the week.
