Ian McCaw has been the Athletic Director for the Flames since November 2016 and already has helped raised the bar for Flames’ Athletics since coming to LU.

He helped the Flames make it in to the FBS in 2017 and in 2018, 17 of the 20 NCAA programs for the Flames joined the ASUN.

What is next for Ian? Here is his 2019 Christmas wish list (in order of occurrence and we try to keep it realistic):

  1. Liberty’s Men basketball beating LSU on December 29th. 
  2. Liberty’s Men basketball finishing the regular season 31-0. (SAY WHAT???)
  3. Carey Green and the Lady Flames winning the ASUN Tourney to advance to the NCAA Tourney.
  4. Coach McKay dancing again, this time all the way to the Sweet 16.
  5. Liberty’s baseball team making it to a Super Regional. 
  6. Adding Notre Dame to a future football schedule. 
  7. Beating Virginia Tech on September 5th in Blacksburg.
  8. Liberty Arena opens in November with a sellout. 
  9. Coach Hugh Freeze leads the Flames to its second straight Bowl appearance. 
  10. Retaining Hugh Freeze and Ritchie McKay.
