Not only did Liberty (5-0) capture their first victory over an ACC opponent but they did it in fairly dominating fashion.

Even without lead back Joshua Mack, the Flames rushed for nearly 350 yards on the ground.

QB Willis added 182 more yards through the air while completing 80% of his attempts (16/20).

Sophomore running back Shedro Louis kicked off the Flames scoring by sprinting 75 yards to the house. Louis experienced surprising success running straight up the middle especially for someone of his diminutive stature, adding a 52 yard touchdown run in the second quarter in similar fashion.

Besides a few costly turnovers and coverage issues, the Flames made quite a statement today.

Now, will this be enough for Liberty to land in the top 25 tomorrow?

Last week they received 8 points in the Top 25. However, there is still significant ground to make up for the Flames.

Unfortunately for the Flames, they do not control their own destiny in this regard. There are several teams ahead of them, and their results today will significantly impact where Liberty will slot in this week.

While it is unlikely, the world of sports is never predictable. All the Flames can do in the meantime is keep winning.

Next week Liberty is scheduled to host the Southern Miss Golden Eagles and will be looking to improve to 6-0.
