Liberty redshirt-sophomore Scottie James has been named to the Big South’s 2nd team all-conference, as announced by the league today while Elijah Cuffee was named to the All-Freshman team.
James leads the Flames in scoring (13.1), rebounds (8.5), field goal percentage (60.4%), and blocks (24). He’s 15th in the league in scoring and 2nd in rebounding. His shooting percentage would be tops in the Big South, but his 255 attempts aren’t enough to be ranked.
He was joined on the 2nd team by Charleston Southern’s Christian Keeling, Gardner-Webb’s David Efianayi, High Point’s Andre Fox and Jahaad Proctor. The first-team was comprised of Winthrop’s Xavier Cooks (Player of the Year), Campbell’s Chris Clemons, UNC Asheville’s Ahmad Thomas and MaCio Teague, and Radford’s Ed Polite.
Cuffee is averaging 5.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. He has seen his playing time increase throughout the season and he has started 12 games.
Liberty begins its quest for a big South Tournament Championship on Thursday against Campbell.
