Following a weekend visit, linebacker Jerome Jolly committed to Liberty, according to sources. Jolly is a 3-star rated prospect according to ESPN.
Jolly is the 2nd commit Coach Hugh Freeze and staff have picked up from the first big camp weekend the Flames have had this summer. Liberty had approximately 150 of its top prospects on campus for Friday Night Lights’ elite camp. Jolly and Louis Taylor have both committed since joining the staff on campus this weekend.
Southern Miss and Liberty were his two reported offers as Jolly helped lead Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida to the school’s first ever state championship in Florida’s Class 8A in 2018. In addition to his visit to Lynchburg this weekend, the 5’11”, 195 pound Jolly has also taken unofficial visits to Georgia Southern and South Florida. As a junior, he recorded 72 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks, good enough to earn Honorable Mention all-area defensive team honors.
Class of 2019 Liberty signee DeMario Douglas and Jolly were high school teammates at Mandarin.
Jolly is the 4th commitment in the class of 202, joining Taylor, Lincorey Lucas, and Cameron Hunter.
