The 2021 NFL regular season came to a close this past weekend, and former Liberty Flame Jessie Lemonier made sure that he would make an impact before entering the offseason. Playing for the Detroit Lions, Lemonier was able to get into the backfield against the Green Bay Packers and sacked Aaron Rodgers.
Lemonier signed with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent immediately following the 2020 NFL Draft. After spending most of the year on the team’s practice squad, Lemonier played in 6 games with the Chargers during his rookie campaign, recording 2 tackles while being a key member of the special teams units.
This year, after being let go by the Chargers, Lemonier was picked up by the Detroit Lions and placed on their practice squad. In October, the outside linebacker was signed to Detroit’s active roster. He finishes the season having played in seen straight games while making two starts. He finished the year with 15 tackles, three QB hits, and 1.5 sacks.
