According to Mark Miller, Marquette guard John Dawson will be transferring to Liberty. Dawson will have to sit out the 2015 spring and fall semesters before being eligible beginning with the spring semester of 2016. He will have 2 and a half years of eligibility remaining.

Dawson is a 6’2″ sophomore guard from Clovis, New Mexico. He saw 4 minutes of playing time in Marquette’s season opener and has not played since. As a freshman in 2013-14, Dawson averaged 2 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1 assist per game. He announced his intention to transfer on December 9th. Dawson was a 3-star prospect out of high school with offers from numerous schools including Marquette, Wyoming, and Creighton.
