Liberty guards Josh Price and Tytist Dean have entered the transfer portal, according to Verbal Commits, both are grad transfers. Price is on scholarship, while Dean is a walk-on. With Marten Maide electing to transfer earlier this month, the Flames now have two scholarships available for next season.
The 6’3″ Price is from Charlotte, North Carolina where he attended Carmel Christian School. He redshirted his true freshman season during the 2018-19 campaign. The son of former NBA player Mark Price, Josh played in 12 games this past season, playing a total of 57 minutes while averaging 2.1 points per game. He shot 52.6% from the field and made 2 of his 10 three point attempts.
Dean joined the program prior to the 2018-19 season as a walk-on. This past season he played in 12 games, scoring 6 points to go along with 10 rebounds and 3 assists in 3.3 minutes per game. The 6’0″ guard is originally from St. Paul, Minnesota where he attended North St. Paul High School.
Liberty’s current roster makeup for the 2021-22 season includes 11 scholarship players, two below the limit of 13, in Micaiah Abii, Drake Dobbs, Jonathan Jackson, Keegan McDowell, Darius McGhee, Blake Preston, Shiloh Robinson, Kyle Rode, Isiah Warfield, and incoming freshmen Brody Peebles and Joseph Venzant.
