The team, coaching staff and everyone involved gets a ton of credit for a bunch of these stats and records we are about to share. Add in that QB1 Kaidon Salter is electric and a playmaker, and the record books didn’t stand a chance.

Kaidon was a star on this team and started in all 13 games after winning the starting job in training camp.

He would go on to lead the Flames to the most wins in school history. It was the team’s first time making an appearance in, and first time winning an FBS Conference Championship. It was the first time a Flames team had been ranked in the College Football Playoff Rankings. By receiving an invitation to the VRBO Fiesta Bowl, Salter and the Flames are the first ones in CUSA and LU history to made it to a New Years Six.

What an incredible season for the Flames, and K-Salt.

Again, the offensive line, receivers, tight ends, coaching staff, everyone contributes here, but K-Salt certainly dazzled while rewriting the Quarterback record books at Liberty.

Single Season Rushing Yards by QB, K-Salt is at 1,064 of electric rushing yards, breaking Malik Willis’ record of 944 by 120 yards with one game left to play! (Side note, he needs 3 rushing TDs on January 1st to break Malik’s TDs by a QB record for a season).

K-Salt broke the Original GOAT’s (Buckshot Calvert’s) passing TD’s record (29) with 31 Passing touchdowns.

K-Salt is responsible for more total TDs than any player in the history of the program. He either passed or rushed for 43 TDs this year (with one game to play), breaking Malik’s mark of 40.

K-salt rewrote the record book, and the 2023 edition is a fantastic read. He did all of that while only throwing 5 picks, recording very few fumbles, with a completion percentage over 60%. He rewrote the record books and did it cleanly. What a legendary season, what a legendary player, and what a legendary team.

*** There should be an asterisk by all individual stats in the record book to give O-Line the credit they deserve, so we are posting the asterisks here. Chase Mitchell, Jonathan Graham, Jordan White, X’Zauvea Gadlin, Xavior Grey, Jack Tucker, and Aaron Fenimore, all had a phenomenal year as a dominant and cohesive group lead by coach Bill Durkin. ***
