Liberty has added Darius Copeland to its 2023 roster. The talented wide receiver is on campus and has announced his commitment to the Flames. He will be eligible this coming season.
Copeland is a 5’10”, 175 pound receiver from Pelham, Alabama and Pelham High School. He played in just five games during his senior year last fall before tearing his ACL. That injury affected his recruitment as many schools backed off in recruiting him.
He picked up offers from UT Martin and Samford prior to his senior season and also had several FBS schools pursuing him.
In 5 games played last year, Copeland had 28 receptions for 531 yards and 5 touchdowns. He also carried the ball 29 times for 113 yards and 2 touchdowns. During his junior year, Copeland played in 11 games and recorded 24 catches for 390 yards and 4 touchdowns while also rushing 14 times for 109 yards and 3 scores.
