JaQuize Buycks announced his commitment to Liberty on Sunday afternoon, as the Flames pick up a commitment from a second defensive linemen in as many days.
Previously, Buycks announced a top four of Liberty, Troy, Maryland, and Memphis. He is a 6’2″, 270 pound defensive line prospect from Millbrook, Alabama where he attends Stanhope Elmore High School. He is a consensus three-star rated athlete with an offer list that includes Arizona State, Buffalo, Charlotte, Georgia State, Indiana, Jacksonville State, South Alabama, Southern Miss, USF, and Western Kentucky.
With a 247Sports Composite rating of .8585, Buycks becomes the 7th highest rated commitment in school history. Alongside QB Reese Mooney and WR Jeremiah Shack, the Flames now have three of their seven highest rated commitments in school history from the Class of 2023.
Buycks is the 11th commitment in Liberty’s Class of 2023, and he joins Eliyt Nairne and Mamadou Cissokho as the early commitments on the defensive line in the class.
