Liberty and head coach Ritchie McKay picked up a commitment from 2026 forward Torr Sorensen.
Sorensen is a 6’7″ forward who picked up an offer from the Flames over the weekend following a visit to campus. He also has an offer from College of Charleston. Sorensen attends Western Reserve Academy in Ohio.
Torr is the son of Liberty alum Erik Sorensen who played on some of the best Liberty basketball teams. Erik was a forward at Liberty from 1994-1998 when he played 113 games and started 59 for the Flames over his career. He averaged 5.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
Sorensen is one of several commitments Liberty basketball currently has. He joins 2024 commits Brett Decker and Will Gibson who will be able to sign their national letter of intents in November, as well as 2025 commits Zander Carter and Andrew Grimes. Sorensen is the first commitment in the Class of 2026 for the Flames.
