According to 247Sports, Liberty has picked up a grad transfer in Georgia State safety Cedric Stone.
Stone started all 13 games for the Panthers in 2019, finishing 5th on the team with 48 tackles, 4 pass breakups and a fumble recovery. He’s got 40 games of experience under his belt, with 68 career tackles, 1 interception and 8 pass breakups. He moved to safety in 2019 after playing cornerback his first three seasons.
Stone will immediately add depth to a Liberty defensive backfield that welcomes NC State transfer Tim Kidd-Glass and JUCO transfers Juawan Treadwell and Marcus Haskins.
The 5’10”, 185 pound Stone is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina where he attended Independence High School. He has one season of eligibility remaining and will be eligible for the 2020 season.
