We continue to move closer towards the 2023 football season, and, with it, the start of Liberty’s time in Conference USA. The Flames have added Marius Landsfield, a defensive lineman from Germany. He could join the team for the 2023 season.
Landsfield spent the 2022 season at Fork Union Military Academy and was part of the 2024 recruiting class, but as he commits to Liberty he will also begin playing for the Flames this season.
The 6’3″, 270 pound German has picked up offers from Liberty, Virginia Tech, Georgia State and FCS schools. He has taken a visit to Georgia State and was scheduled to visit Virginia Tech but cancelled that visit as he has committed to the Flames.
Landsfield will join a Liberty defensive line that has been reworked since the end of the 2022 season. The Flames have several new faces at the important position group. Landsfield can ease his way into the college football experience, or if he excels he could provide immediate depth for the Flames.
It felt like home, so I made it home!!!
