Liberty picked up a commitment from Louis Taylor on Sunday, according to sources.
Taylor is a 6’1″, 185 pound athlete from Magna Vista High School in Ridgeway, Virginia just outside of Martinsville. Taylor camped with Liberty as part of the Friday Night Lights elite camp with approximately 150 of the Flames’ top prospects. He picked up an offer from Coach Hugh Freeze and Liberty on Friday, his first Division I offer, and on Sunday he made the news official as he pledged to the Flames.
Taylor and Magna Vista were on campus throughout the weekend as they competed in the Virginia High School state track meet. He plays defensive back and running back on the gridiron. He projects to play on the defensive side of the field to begin his collegiate career.
Taylor is the 3rd commitment in the Class of 2020, all 3 coming from the Commonwealth of Virginia. He joins Indian River High School teammates from Chesapeake 2-star defensive end Lincorey Lucas and 3-star athlete Cameron Hunter.
