Liberty is listed among others receiving votes in the preseason Coaches Poll which was released on Monday.
The Flames received 15 votes, 10 spots out of the Top 25 poll entering the 2024 season, effectively ranked No. 35.
The Flames are the only Conference USA team to receive any votes in the poll. One Liberty opponent for this season received votes, Appalachian State, who picked up 2 votes. The Flames and Mountaineers meet on Sept. 28 in Boone, North Carolina.
Liberty is the third highest ranked Group of Five team, checking in behind Memphis who is ranked 30th with 55 votes and Boise State who is ranked 31st with 30 votes. Former Liberty head coach Hugh Freeze and his Auburn Tigers are ranked 32nd after receiving 25 votes.
Liberty will open the season at home on August 30 against Campbell. Kickoff from Williams Stadium is scheduled for 6 p.m.
