#5 on our Liberty Athletics Year in Review is Jesse Sanders’ career.
While he never led the Flames to the NCAA tournament, Jesse Sanders will go down as one of the greatest to ever wear a Liberty uniform. Jesse finished his career #15 in school history in scoring, #5 in rebounds, and #1 in assists. He is the only Liberty player to tally more than 1,000 points, 800 rebounds, and 700 assists in a career.
His list of accomplishments is too long to list. In addition to those listed above, Sanders also finished his career as the Big South’s all-time assist leader. He was named First-Team Big South All-Conference twice, and the Big South Player of the Year during his Junior season. Jesse is also the first player in NCAA Division I history to record a triple-double in each of his four collegiate seasons.
This past summer, Sanders signed with the Italian professionasl basketball team Fileni BPA Jesi.
