The Liberty baseball team will open the 2023 season with a three-game series at Southern Miss, beginning Feb. 17. The home opener is scheduled for March 1 against Longwood.
We continue our Liberty baseball video preview series with this interview with left handed pitcher Garrett Gainey. He comes to the Flames after transferring from former Big South rival Winthrop. With the Eagles, Gainey had 15 appearances, including 11 starts, last season. He finished the 2022 campaign with a 6.62 ERA, 5-6 record, while striking out 55 in 70.2 innings pitched.
