The Liberty baseball team will open the 2023 season with a three-game series at Southern Miss, beginning Feb. 17. The home opener is scheduled for March 1 against Longwood.

He is a first year player with the Flames, coming in from the College of Central Florida after beginning his career at Florida Atlantic. He spent two years with the Owls, playing in 26 games and registering 4 hits, 1 home run, and 8 RBIs in 37 at bats. In the JUCO ranks last year, Castillo had a .376 batting average with 12 home runs and 58 RBIs.
