Liberty Baseball’s 2017 schedule has finally come into focus now that it has been officially released. The 2017 season will not be an easy one for first year coach Scott Jackson and his squad.
The Flames schedule most notably features 11 games against 2016 NCAA Regional participants (Bryant, Bethune-Cookman, Duke, Virginia, and East Carolina). A trip to ACC power North Carolina on April 18th, former employer of our new skipper, will give Liberty another chance to bolster their resume as it looks to once again make an appearance in a Regional.
Liberty will start the season with a trip to Charleston, South Carolina to play in The Citadel Tournament February 17th, to play Virginia, Kansas, and the host team the Citadel. Kentucky will visit the Liberty Baseball Stadium to kick off the Flames out of conference home slate February 22rd.
In Big South Conference play the flames will get High Point, Campbell, Presbyterian, and Winthrop at home while hitting the road to play Charleston Southern, Gardner-Webb, Radford, and Longwood.
With National Champion Coastal Carolina missing from the 2017 schedule, and out of the Big South picture, the Flames should be in the mix for a conference title and Regional appearance.

When does the Big South release it’s preseason coaches poll?
For baseball? Not until late January/early February
