As Liberty leads the ASUN and is the heavy favorite to repeat as conference champions, the Flames will find themselves in most bracket projections throughout the season. Each week we will provide updated information on Liberty’s current highest and lowest seed, as well as other notable seeds and matchup information from around the web.
This week, Liberty is being projected in all 96 brackets included on Bracket Matrix and being pegged anywhere from an 8 to a 13 seed with an average of 11.40.
Interesting to note, following Liberty’s loss Thursday night at North Florida by 1 point, the Ospreys are tied atop the ASUN standings with the Flames at 5-1. Due to their head-to-head win, UNF currently owns the tiebreaker over the Flames. ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi always updates his bracket projections with the conference champion going to whoever is currently in first place. So, in his update Friday morning, he has North Florida getting the auto bid from the ASUN and a 16-seed in the NCAA Tournament. But, he has Liberty receiving an at-large bid as one of the last four teams in his bracket.
