Defensive end Jackson Shirer is the newest member in Liberty’s 2021 class. Shirer is an unrated player from Arlington Texas. We had the chance to ask Shirer a couple questions, and it is evident how excited he is to be a Flame.
What made you pick Liberty?
“After a lot of thought and prayer we felt Liberty was the best for me and my family, because of the coaching staff, you won’t find anybody as good as these guys,” Shirer said. “They made feel like family when we were on the phone and on our virtual tour.”
What are your favorite things about Liberty?
“My favorite things about Liberty is the coaching staff, the opportunities that they give all of their student and it feels like a family environment,” Shirer said. “Also, Coach Hubbard is always talking about those cookies so I have to put those on the list as well.”
Have you gotten the chance to take a virtual tour?
“Yes I have taken a virtual tour and the campus was great, my favorite thing about the campus was the cafeteria for the athletes and how they know exactly what our diet is so we can become faster and stronger,” Shirer said. “They also got those cookies in there.”
What are you most excited for as you join the program in the summer?
“I’m most excited for a new beginning,” Shirer said. “I’m moving to a new state, meeting new people and starting new relationships, that I know will last for a lifetime.”
