Liberty is scheduled to play at Bowling Green on Sept. 13, 2025, according to a copy of the contract obtained by ASOR via a public records request. This game has been moved to the 2025 season after originally being scheduled for Sept. 23, 2028.

This completes the Flames non-conference schedule for 2025. Liberty will open the year against Maine on August 30. Following the trip to Bowling Green, Ohio, the Flames will play two straight in-state FBS opponents. LU hosts James Madison on Sept. 20 and plays at Old Dominion on Sept. 27.

This game will be the return date in the home and home series between Liberty and Bowling Green. The Flames and Falcons met on Sept. 2, 2023 in Lynchburg, Virginia. Liberty won that game, 34-24, to jump start what would be a 13-1 campaign for the Flames under first year head coach Jamey Chadwell. Kaidon Salter completed 11 of 20 passes for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns while also rushing for 82 yards in the win.

Bowling Green would go on to a 7-6 record last year. Head coach Scot Loeffler is 20-35 in his five seasons at Bowling Green but has led the Falcons to back-to-back bowl appearances the past two years.
