Following Liberty’s win over Southern Miss on Saturday as the Flames improved to 6-0 to begin the season, Liberty continues to receive votes in the national top 25 polls. For the fourth consecutive week, the Flames have received votes in the Coaches Poll and Liberty received votes in the Associated Press Top 25 poll for the second consecutive week.

In the Coaches Poll, Liberty received 112 points, effectively ranking 27th, up from last week’s 57 points and 31st ranking. The Flames have won eight straight games dating back to last season, the second longest active win streak in the country, trailing only Notre Dame who has won 11 straight.

In the Associated Press Top 25 poll, the Flames received 85 points and are also ranked No. 27. This is up from last week’s 37 votes and No. 33 ranking.

Liberty is off next week as the Flames enter the bye week tied for the program’s best ever win streak to begin a season, as the Flames began the 1989 and 2008 seasons 6-0, as well. Following the bye week, Liberty will take the short trek west to Blacksburg to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies. Virginia Tech fell to 3-2 on the season after falling to Wake Forest, 23-16, on Saturday. With the loss, the Hokies fell out of the top 25.

NC State (4-2) also dropped from the Top 25 after they loss to in-state rival North Carolina, 48-21. joins the rankings this week at No. 22 after defeating Duke this weekend. The Flames and Wolfpack are scheduled to meet in Raleigh, North Carolina on Nov. 21.

Coastal Carolina (5-0) remains in the top 25 after they defeated Georgia Southern, 28-14. The Chanticleers are ranked No. 21 in the Coaches Poll and No. 20 in the AP Poll.
