Liberty defeated Georgia Southern, 23-16, to win the 5th Cure Bowl and Liberty’s first ever bowl win in school history. With the win, the Flames move to 8-5 on the season.
Flames’ defensive coordinator Scott Symons was the MVP of this game as he got his defense prepared to slow down this Georgia Southern triple option attack. The Eagles entered the game 8th in the country in rushing offense, but the Flames shut them down.
