Liberty defensive tackle Henry Chibueze has entered the transfer portal, he announced on his social media accounts. Chibueze is the third Liberty player to announce their transfer on Wednesday, joining Karsen Perkins and Troy Henderson.
The 6’3″, 315 pound Chibueze is originally from Woodbridge, Virginia where he attended Woodbridge, Virginia. He played in 10 games and started two in 2021, recording 18 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and one forced fumble. During his career at Liberty, Chibueze played in 25 games, recorded 37 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and one forced fumble.
Chibueze was expected to be a big part of the Liberty defensive line in 2022, projected to be a starter on the defensive line. He played a vital role in 2021 and was viewed as the third starter on the interior of the line behind starters Ralfs Rusins and Elijah James. With Chibueze out of the picture, the Flames will turn to Kendy Charles, Dre Butler, Chris Boti, and Bryce Dixon to help shoulder the load at defensive tackle and nose guard.
