Liberty took the ice this Homecoming weekend against the ESCHL newcomer, but ACHA Division 1 veteran Syracuse Orange. Both games ended up being quite competitive, with the Flames jumping out to big early leads in both. However the team was only able to manage a split with the Orange on the weekend, taking their first conference loss of the season. Liberty was paced by 3 individual multi-point performances. So without further delay, here are your three stars of the weekend…
1st 
Zane Schartz, Junior Defenseman
Zane started off the weekend by tallying an assist on Friday night’s 5-3 loss. However he followed it up with a 1 goal, 1 assist performance in Saturday afternoon’s big 4-2 win over the Orange. The defenseman is currently 3rd on the team in overall scoring. No small feat for a blue liner.
2nd 
Quinn Ryan, Sophomore Forward
The 5’9″ Quinn moved to second in overall team scoring this weekend, with is 2 point performance against Syracuse on Saturday afternoon. He tallied 1 goal and 1 assist on the day, helping to cement the Flames’ win.
3rd
Sam Carlson, Freshman Forward
The 6’4″ Alaska native leads a pack of Liberty Freshmen contributors so far this season, with 7 points. That includes a 1 goal, 1 assist performance Friday night against Syracuse. Expect big things from Sam and the Flames’ other youngsters as the season matures.
