Maurice Freeman announced his top 9 on Wednesday and the Flames made the cut alongside East Carolina, Old Dominion, FAU, PItt, Ole Miss, Appalachian State, Georgia Tech, and Indiana.
Freeman is a 3-star rated safety from Chesapeake, Virginia where he attends Oscar Smith High School. The 6’0″, 190 pound athlete is ranked as one the No. 15 prospect in Virginia according to 247Sports. Freeman has over 20 offers. He says he will make his decision on August 1.
Of Liberty, Freeman told 247Sports: “I love Liberty. I visited right before the coronavirus (shutdown) started. It was amazing with the new facility but I want to go back. I have to go back and see how it looks now. I love Liberty. The coaching staff, coach Freeze, coach Bruce (Johnson).”
