Liberty has had a very successful football run dating back to the 2006 season when Danny Rocco was hired. In 2005, the Flames were coming off a 1-10 season under former head coach Ken Karcher. Rocco, then an assistant at Virginia, was hired to take over and things have been trending upwards ever since.
Liberty is one of just 15 Division I football programs with 6 or more wins every season dating back to 2006.
Of those 15 teams, Liberty is one of just 12 current FBS programs to have accomplished the feat, and one of only 7 current FBS teams without a losing record during that time.
Additionally, there have been just three FCS programs that has won 6 or more games each season dating back to 2006.
