Liberty has offered Colgate linebacker Prince Ekwughalu who has entered the transfer portal following two seasons with the FCS program. Ekwughalu is a 6’0″, 205 pound prospect from Rahway, New Jersey where he attended the Hun School. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
In eight games during the 2019 season, his true freshman campaign, Ekwughalu recorded four tackles, 1.5 sacks, and recovered one fumble in the end zone for a touchdown. This past season, he played in and started just one game before electing to transfer, recording six tackles and one sack.
He has also picked up offers from Robert Morris, UT Martin, Southeastern Louisiana, Richmond, McNeese State, and Maine since entering the portal. Liberty head coach Hugh Freeze has frequently spotlighted linebacker as a position of need if the Flames could find someone that fit with the team.
