While much doubt still lingers over the 2020 college football season, week 1 betting lines have opened at Circa Sports. Liberty opens as a 23 point underdog in week 1 at Virginia Tech.
The Flames and Hokies are scheduled to meet at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg on Sept. 5. It will be just the second meeting between the programs, with the Hokies beating the Flames, 36-13, on Sept. 3, 2016 in Justin Fuente’s first game as head coach at Virginia Tech.
That game also marked the first game in a Liberty uniform for Flames’ legends Antonio Gandy-Golden and Buckshot Calvert. Liberty will also be breaking in a new starting quarterback against the Hokies this season after Calvert spent the past 4 seasons as the Flames’ signal caller.
