To open the weekend series, the Pirates were able to outlast the Flames on Friday night. Seton Hall was able to get to starter Mason Meyer and score 3 runs, 2 earned through 4 innings. They would add 2 more in the 7th off Mason Fluharty in relief.
Noah Skirrow shut down the Pirates bats on Saturday, pitching 6 and one-third innings of 3-hit baseball allowing just one unearned run. The Flames only mustered 4 hits on the afternoon but thanks to a couple of errors were able to plate the 3 necessary runs in the win.
In Sunday’s rubber match, Cam Locklear’s grand slam in the 3rd inning proved to be the difference as Garrett Price, Mason Fluharty, David Erickson, and Troy Britts combined to pitch 4 and one-third innings of scoreless baseball in relief of Joe Adametz.
