Liberty has picked up a commitment from kicker Nick Brown. He was offered a preferred walk-on spot by the Flames on February 28, and Brown is expected to join the team this summer. Brown was named to the 5-5A Division I All-District first-team following his senior season. He also had offers from Louisiana Tech and SF Austin, as well as a scholarship offer from SE Oklahoma State.
He will join a Liberty roster that returns starting kicker Alex Barbir and Jason Stricker. Barbir made 13 of 20 field goals this past season and 50 of 52 extra points. He also made the game winning field goal in Lane Stadium against Virginia Tech to help push the Flames past the Hokies.
