Liberty has picked up a commitment from Jacob Lecates, an offensive lineman in the class of 2022, he announced on Twitter Tuesday morning.
Lecates is a 6’8″, 325 pound offensive tackle from Ben Lippen School in Columbia, South Carolina. He says he plans on signing with Liberty on Wednesday. Lecates was offered by Liberty in mid-December and took a visit to Lynchburg in late January. He was named SCISA Region 1 AAA All-Region Honorable Mention this past season. His only other reported Division I offer is from FCS Charleston Southern. He is expected to join the team as a preferred walk-on.
Liberty has brought in three mid-year transfers on the offensive line to help beef up the Flames’ front line for the 2022 season. Kentucky transfer Naasir Watkins and JUCO transfer Reggie Young will help the team fill immediate needs at tackle while Colorado State transfer Cam Reddy will look to slide in at center.
