Following Liberty’s season opening win on Saturday at Western Kentucky, the Flames are being projected by College Football News to play in a bowl game in Texas.
This week, CFN projects Liberty to play in the Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl in Frisco, Texas at Toyota Stadium which is set to be televised by ESPN. The projection has the Flames slotted against North Texas. The Mean Green are currently 1-1 on the season with a win over Houston Baptist, 57-31, and a loss to SMU, 65-35.
Liberty lost to North Texas, 47-7, in 2018 during the Flames inaugural FBS season. LU is currently scheduled to make the return trip to North Texas Oct. 23, 2021.
