ESPN revealed their annual preseason Football Power Index rankings on Monday, with Liberty coming in at No. 122.
The FPI rankings are designed to be the best predictor of a team’s performance heading into the season. The rankings measure how far above or below the national average each team is and uses thousands of simulations of the 2020 season to accurately rank each team.
Last year, Liberty began the season at No. 114 in the FPI rankings. The Flames kick off the 2020 season on Saturday, Sep. 5 with at Virginia Tech.
