Liberty running back Troy Henderson has entered the transfer portal, he announced on his social media accounts. Henderson is a 5’9″, 165 pound running back originally from Franklin, Tennessee where he attended Independence High School. He is the second Liberty player to announce they are entering the portal on Wednesday, joining defensive tackle Karsen Perkins.
Henderson played in 5 games for the Flames in 2021, rushing the ball 20 times for 35 yards. After redshirting as a true freshman in 2018, he played in 17 games over the past three seasons, totaling 62 carries for 263 yards and a touchdown. He also hauled in three passes for 33 yards and two touchdowns. Henderson was a three-star recruit out of high school with offers from Elon, Northwestern, Samford, and Wake Forest.
He was buried a bit on the Flames’ depth chart at running back. Liberty’s top three running backs at the end of spring ball are Dae Dae Hunter, Shedro Louis, and TJ Green.
Been a great 4 yrs. Plenty memories, plenty discoveries, & more importantly, close relationships. Words can’t describe how thankful I am to the Flames for all the lessons & growth over the years. Time to move forward. With that being said my name is in the transfer portal.💯🙏🏾 pic.twitter.com/WrQlFEaKGe
