The Flames fell behind Toccoa Falls 3-0 on the first possession of the game, but Liberty responded with an 18-0 run to seize control of the game. Coach McKay’s squad would finish off the Screaming Eagles by a final score of 96-50.

Myo Baxter-Bell led the team with 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting while adding 8 boards. Scottie James recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in just 10 minutes.
Keegan McDowell set a career-high with 12 points, of course it was only his 6th career game. The true freshman from Ohio connected on both of his 3 pointers and was a perfect 4/4 from the free throw line. All of his points came in the first half. McDowell was struggling from 3 to begin his collegiate career, shooting 3-of-16 from deep.
Caleb Homesley had his best performance of the young season, finishing the game with 8 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds. Caleb is continuing to make his comeback to full strength since suffering a knee injury last December against Princeton.
Zach Farquhar had a career-high with 15 points, all from made 3 pointers, as he was a perfect 5-of-5 from deep. Walk-on guard Brody Hicks recorded his first career points, finishing with 4 points on 2 made buckets.
Ryan Kemrite did not play as he got the afternoon off for rest.
All 11 Flames that played in the game scored. Liberty dominated the glass, 47-21, including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounding.
Liberty returns to action on Monday night at 7pm in the Vines Center against Howard. The Bison have started the season 0-6 with losses to George Washington, Indiana, Gonzaga, Eastern Michigan, Arkansas State, and South Florida. The Flames are 3-1 all-time against Howard, with the most recent matchup coming during the 2013-14 season.
