The Liberty Flames’ baseball team has run its win streak to 6 straight games following a 4-0 mark this week against Longwood and a series sweep over Marist. The Flames are now 7-4 overall and 7-1 at home this season.

Liberty’s bats broke out in a big way against former Big South rival Radford on Tuesday. The Flames got 4 hits and 5 RBIs from Trey McDyre on the afternoon as well as 5 innings of solid pitching from Mason Hand who only allowed one run.
To open the weekend series, Liberty topped the Red Foxes, 4-3, on Friday evening thanks to home runs from Garrett Wilkerson and Jaylen Guy. Brady Gulakowski had two hits, including a double, in the win.
On Saturday, three Liberty pitchers combined to pitch a no-hitter. Starter Noah Skirrow and relievers Troy Britts and Landon Riley held Marist without a hit, the first in the eight-year history of Worthington Field and Liberty Baseball Stadium and the fourth in program history. The Flames did walk 8 in the game.
Liberty third baseman Ben Highfill led off the bottom of the 9th inning with a solo home run as the Flames walked off to the series sweep on Sunday.
Liberty will return to action with two games during the mid-week as well as a 3-game home series against Kent State beginning Friday.
